Easycom: The RAM can be upgraded but not the graphics. It has an S-Video out for connection to a TV, but if the TV has a VGA or DVI input then that would be even better.

Easycom: It should do, but check the minimum system requirements on the games first.

Easycom: The laptop includes a webcam which can be used for video chat or conferencing with applications such as Skype and Messenger.

I've looked on the MS website and they are going on about a remote control, does this product have a remote control? Also what do i need to be able to watch and record TV and can i watch recorded stuff through my TV and not my monitor?

Easycom: XP MCE is designed for the living room and can be remote controlled with the optional Microsoft remote control. When in use it gives you a much simpler way of navigating through your music collection, internet radio, pictures and any movies you have on your laptop. It can also be linked to a Xbox 360. To watch TV on the notebook you require an external USB TV tuner.

Easycom: As the laptop features a dual core processor and a dedicated graphics card it would be able to play the latest games.

Easycom: That is a rather crude comparison but does give some indication as to the level of performance you can expect from a Core 2 Duo processor. Core 2 processor are significantly more efficient in operation and offer increased performance as well as longer battery lives and increased security.

Easycom: The laptop graphics card can indeed run extended desktop across two screens.

Easycom: S-Video out is a one way connection so you'd only be able to output to a TV, not accept an input from it.

Easycom: The laptop is indeed capable of running the Aero interface. A dead pixel is not considered to be a fault, so the laptop could not be returned if there was only one dead pixel.

Easycom: The notebook can indeed be upgrade to 4GB which would offer greater performance while gaming, however the graphics card cannot be upgraded.

Easycom: The laptop comes with Media Center pre installed rather than Vista which cannot be upgrade for free. The warranty is indeed included with the laptop as standard.

Easycom: The 1 year warranty is indeed international.

10-Apr-2007 RC: The graphics card is described as supporting 256MB. In the detailed spec it says 128MB. Which is it, a 256MB or 128MB card?

Easycom: The graphics card is a turbo cache card which has 128MB of dedicated memory but is able to address a portion of the system memory as well. This means the graphics can offer the performance of a 256MB card at not only a lower price, but also with a longer battery life as it uses less power.

Easycom: The difference between the two Aspire 5633WLMi is the graphics card. As you say you don’t want the notebook to play games on I would suggest the getting the LX.AU30J.090.

18-Apr-2007 js: I have just bought the acer aspire LX.AG50J.169 and want to make recovery disc. The booklet advises me to use - backup optical device:- 0I(E:\) slim type DVDRWSSM-8515S as per regulations etc. How does this technical description translate into information on DVDs that you buy in the shops. In other words what discs should I buy ?

Easycom: We would recommend you use any standard DVD+R or DVD-R recordable discs, it doesnt matter which.

22-Apr-2007 Edward: I have just bought this laptop with a 2gb upgrade. It runs all the latest games smoothly. Games which require a minimum of say, 1.7ghz work fine because of the dual core capabilities. Im not sure what its like with just 1gb but with 2gb it runs very smooth. Its quite light considering its almost a desktop replacement. Delivery was 2 days, and 1 day for fixing the extra ram. Which was extremely proficient. A great buy indeed.

Easycom: The laptop comes with a restore partition from which you can make a restore DVD, as for the two notebooks I prefer the Acer.

Easycom: This caused a bit of a debate in our office! We came to the conclusion that the only way you could do this would be to use a USB TV Tuner that had a compatible input socket on it, but we dont currently sell one ourselves.

Easycom: Vista now works fine. There is also due a service pack out which will fix all the bugs you have been hearing about.
