Easycom: The acer is much better for playing games as it has a more powerful cpu, more ram for smooth running and a top end graphics card. Whereas, the graphics card on the vaio is a little behind.

Easycom: Yes, this model has the 1080p WUXGA display. There are a wide range of ExpressCards available to add extra ports to your laptop. Examples include extra USB2 ports, Firewire, Parallel/Serial ports, SATA sockets and memory card readers.

SteveF: If you have a tv license then it will already be covered. If not then please contact the TV Licensing department to check on there ruling on the matter.

peterh: It comes with Acer eRecovery software, which allows you to create your own restore discs.

15-Aug-2008 andy: Hi, I have read a few reviews about ths product, and the one down side that I have read is that it has a louder fan noise when compared to other laptops. Could you please tell me if this is the case. It also has built in Freeview, does this mean I can watch HD TV anytime, anywhere and do I need a tv licence?

Easycom: Having seen the model in question working in the showroom, I didn't feel that the fan noise was any louder than any of the other laptops. The laptop does have a built in TV tuner which means you can watch any of the free view channels and technically, if you don't have a TV license then you should have one.

15-Aug-2008 kirsty: Hi, how many USB ports are there on this model and has it a firewire port? If I need firewire is there any other way of connecting to the laptop? Also since its fully HD ready, can I still watch normal movies that are not in HD?

Easycom: There are four USB ports, no firewire but you can get a separate firewire port that connects via the express card slot. As for movie playback, you can watch both blue ray and standard DVDs.

Easycom: The remote is listed as an optional extra and can be bought from acer.

10-Sep-2008 Elf: I just need confirmation, there is camera installed in this model right? Is it 0.3MP or 1.3MP? And it does include the 7in1 card readers right? Its just the specs seems to keep changing a bit or not written in the page...

Easycom: There is a 1.3 mp web cam and a 6 in 1 card reader with this model.

Easycom: They both come with the same graphics card so no difference there but the LX.AP40X.121 model comes with a 1080p (1920 x 1080) screen resolution meaning you will get a more detailed picture then the other model which has a resolution of 1366 x 768

8-Nov-2007 Samba: Can you have confirm whether Vista is ok to use now if not so, is it possible to provide Windows XP Professional Downgrade. I'm intereseted to take Vista but I'm jsut wondered this verison is reay verison to use and confirmed by Microsft.

Easycom: Vista now works fine. There is also due a service pack out which will fix all the bugs you have been hearing about.
