Easycom: Not on this one, only certain models have the blu ray drive.

30-Apr-2008 Batista: Where exactly is the subwoofer?And The only difference btween cheap and expensive version is 2.1 ghz processor and hard drive capacity as far as i can see... Is this correct or is there anything different as well?

Easycom: The TUBA Cinebass booster "Subwoofer" is built into the rear section of the laptop at the bottom of the screen. There are varying additional features available across the range such as Blu-Ray DVD, Higher screen resolution, Freeview TV Tuner dependant on model. These features are not present in this model

Easycom: I can confirm that this machine has an NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS with 512MB VRAM.

And you have it immeaditly in stock right?! If you only take bank transfer for foregeiners how many days would take till i get it in UK?

Easycom: The 9500M is the newer (and slightly faster) graphics chip - It also draws less power, increasing battery life.

Easycom: According to Acers own product specifications, this laptop does have Acer Bio-Protection fingerprint solution integrated.

19-May-2008 Luke: Hi, i was just looking at the pictures - the first one seems to have a shiny black gloss around the screen, however the next few pictures showing the laptop just have a grey colour. Is this because there are two different types of laptop, and will it come grey or blacky gloss or can you choose?

Easycom: It's gloss black around the screen, it's just the reflective lighting in the photograph making it look lighter in certain pictures.

29-May-2008 Ed: Hello. I've been considering this laptop and possible extras for it. My problem is that the vast majority of laptop accessories, namely carry cases are made for 15.4" or 17" sizes. Dismissing the 15.4 range cuts a lot of my choices. Would it be feasible to use a 15.4" case despite the 16" screen? For example, your 'Targus Atmosphere Backpack and Mini Optical Mouse Bundle' (BUN/TCB005EU/2017), as available on the site. I wouldn't mind a snug fit if it's possible to use a smaller case, or is a 17" case advisable? Much thanks. Excellent site, in both design and product range. First site I looked at, and came back after checking two dozen others.

Easycom: It is unlikely that the 15.4" cases would fit this in, because it's a fair bit wider due to the 16:9 display ratio, most widescreen laptops are 16:10. You would be better off with a 17" case as the 15.4" cases are already a tight fit for many 15.4" machines.

5-Jun-2008 Kurayamiblack: Your "Technical Specifications" section says that this machine supports SD cards. However, after browsing through the pictures I've failed to locate a slot that resembles an SD card slot (to me anyhow). Can you confirm this machine's compatibility with SD cards and maybe direct me to where on the machine it is?

Easycom: It has 6-in-1 card reader (SDâ˘, MMC, MMCplusâ˘, MS, MS PRO, xD). The pictures are for demonstration. It should be on the front side of the laptop. cheers

Easycom: Yes, it has a DVD burner, and all the connections are listed in the tech spec tab near the bottom.

Easycom: It has 32bit version of vista. Its not right. Current Operating system (32 bit) can support Memory upto 4GB.

Easycom: It has 32 bit Windows, as most laptops are still shipping with until 64 bit goes mainstream.

Easycom: It's unique! This screen is a bit wider than other widescreen computer displays. Most films are released in a 16:9 ratio, but most widescreen computer screens are a 16:10 ratio, which is a bit of a compromise for all different kinds of uses. These new 16:9 screens from Acer are aimed squarely at multimedia users.

Easycom: The operating system is pre-installed at the factory so it cant be sold without it. XP would work on it, but you would need to obtain the drivers from Acer.

13-Aug-2008 Alex: Hey, me again :) Basically same as my last question.. (On the Toshiba Satellite) I'm looking for a laptop that wold run both Age of Mythology and Valve's Orange Box [Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress 2, etc.]. Would this laptop run them smoothly on their highest settings?

I use it to output to widescreen plasma displays via vga cable, but I can't et it to output to Widescreen - consequently I have two black vertical lines or a distorted picture.
