Easycom: It comes with a restore partition on the hard drive which can also be used to burn your own recovery discs.

Easycom: It's always a good idea to use an external sound card if recording onto a laptop. Apart from that it should be fine, but check the requirements of any software you use though.

Easycom: This model already has a built in network card so you should be fine.

Easycom: It should be fine for school work and web browsing. However, if you want it to be able to play games this model doesn't have a powerful enough graphics card to run most games.

Easycom: The graphics capability of this model isn't really built for games. For that you need dedicated graphics cards. Look for nvidia or Ati Graphics cards which, are present in a lot of models, if you want to play games

SteveF: The trial is generally 60 days. Unfortunately we can't downgrade any laptops with vista home premium or home basic although if contact Acer, they may be able to supply the drivers to do this yourself.

Matt: A 1.85Ghz processor is easily capable of playing a DVD, if it struggles then there is problem somewhere else in the system. You cant really upgrade them though like you can in a Desktop PC.

SteveF: You will need some internet security but as long as you are wifi ready at home, the laptop will connect straight away.

Matt: I havent heard of any such problems, and I have seen Vista running well with Orange broadband.

SteveF: You will have too hard drives showing when you look in - my computer. The smaller one is the recovery partition.

Do Acer currently produce anything more suitable and if so what is the model and do you sell it?

david s: Your right this isnt a gaming laptop, and yes they do. Have you considered the 6920 or 30 or even the 8920 or 30, and the 5920g and 5520g machines??
