Comments, Questions and Answers

Expand/CollapseGeneral Feedback

7-Aug-2008 Andy: Is there a chance to connect a external 5.1 speaker system to the 8920G models?

Easycom: You can output 5.1 surround sound through the HDMI port, or there is a complicated way of doing it with a toslink adapter using the audio out jack's S/PDIF compatibility, or you could use an external sound card with all the separate outputs on it.

15-Jul-2008 CBurnell: Hi, I just wanted to check that regular dvds are playable on the BluRay disc player, especially as this is a technology that is no longer being continued. So, I would expect that regular dvds playable on the laptop can be run through the HDMI port onto an HD-Ready tv

17-Jul-2008 Mattster: Is it possible to output the games you are playing, and the digital TV you are watching to a HDTV? (with the .036) And can you play the games with a bluetooth keyboard/mouse/joypad/s? Is it possible to upgrade the GPU at any point to the 9650? Thank you!

Easycom: You can output to a TV with either HDMI or VGA. Bluetooth peripherals are all fine to use. It's not possible to change the GPU though, as they are always soldered onto the main circuit board in a laptop, not a removable card.

23-Jul-2008 Forbes: Would the Acer Aspire 8920G Gemstone Blue Laptop - LX.AP50X.309 model comfortably run command and conquer 3 and neverwinter nights 2 - with their high spec requirements?

31-Jul-2008 vodkacolly: Im torn between the: Acer Aspire 6920G Gemstone Blue Laptop - Built-in TV Tuner - LX.AP40X.121 and the: Acer Aspire 8920G Gemstone Blue Laptop - LX.AP50X.309. The main difference I can see is the built in tuner and the processor type. Am I missing anything else? Would you recommend one over the other? Thanks in advance.

Easycom: Hi, the differences you have listed between the two models are correct, the other being the screen size. Essentially they are from the same range with the 6920 sporting a 16 inch screen and the 8920 a 18.4 inch. Hope this helps.

19-Aug-2008 enquirer: Can this laptop be downgraded to xp?

Easycom: Yes, but it will need to be purchased seperately.

27-Aug-2008 TomNevill: Its a question about the keyboard. On the images above the enter button takes up 2 rows, but then on a different image I have seen it only taking up one line (a much smaller enter which I personally hate). can you please confirm which one it is. You images are above, and then there is this image - http://pics.computerbase.de/2/0/9/3/2/5.jpg Which one is it?

Easycom: This image you have linked to is a 6920G - You can see it has no number pad on the right-hand side (it does not have room for it as the 6920G is a 16-inch laptop. The 8920G is exactly as shown in our pictures - As it is an 18-inch laptop, it has room for the numberpad and bigger enter key.

29-Aug-2008 tylu: Would F.E.A.R the game run on max settings???? And does Crysis run on this latop???

Easycom: It will run f.e.a.r on max, and it lives up to the recommended requirements for crysis as well.

29-Aug-2008 Pete: Is the .036 (which I understand has the TV tuner) going to be re-stocked, if so when?

Easycom: The 8920G with the TV tuner is LX.AP30X.080 and is currently in stock.
