3-Oct-2008 GARNER: what processor speed is this one cus its the most expensive 8930g on the site. and because it has built in tv tuner does it come with a remote. and also will the expensive 8920g be reduced in price now that the 8930g is coming out. what are the differences with this model and 8930g besides built in tv tuner as standard and better cam from 0.3megapixel to 1mega pixel and video card.

Matt: At this point in time we dont have any information on the TP9400 processor. It's not listed on Intel's site and a google search brings up nothing, we just know that's what this machine will have. When more information is published online, or the machine actually arrives on the 24th of October, we'll update the information. I expect it will have a remote with the tuner but at this point in time it lists it as an option on Acer's website and the individual models arent up there yet. The 8920g's will undoubtedly be reduced in price as the prices always come down over the lifespan of each model. They will be reduced accordingly as our purchase price comes down, in order to keep them a competitive option. The full specifications of the the 8920 and 8930 can be found on Acer's website for a more detailed comparison. Hope this helps.

16-Nov-2008 Eash: After great deal of search and comparision, I have narrowed down to two laps tops. These are Acer Aspire 8930G-944G64Bn Lx AT001U003 and Sony Vaio AW 11Xu, in orer of preference. My primary use is multi-application oriented and will be using it for another 3 years. I would like to know if the Acer model that I have choosen has Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit or 32 bit based and the SATA HDD is 7200 RPM. Could you also let me know which HDD is faster to work with, Sony HDD 500 GB + 128 Gb SSD or Aspire's 7200 RPM HDD of 640 GB? Also will you please let me the price excl. VAT for both the models and if any discount offerred now as Xmas sale? Many Thanks, Eash.

david s: vista will be 32bit, prices ex vat are listed on our website, and as far as I am aware there wont be any discount in a chrismas sale, but you never know.

1-Dec-2008 Pat: When this laptop will be in stock? I ordered on the 6/11/08 and on the day it said exactly the same about stock availability:2-7 days. Today is 1/12/08 and I'm still waiting!

7-Jan-2009 Navid: On Acers official Gemstone Blue website the 8930G is spec'd as having 1066MHz DDR3 RAM. Yet on you'r site it's spec'd as having DDR2 RAM at unspecified speed..? Also why is this shipped with a 32bit version of Windows when it has 4GB's of RAM installed..? Windows 32bit cant address that much RAM, only 64bit can, seems like a bit of a miss-match. Finally, when do you believe you will recive stock of the new 8930 model with the quad Q9000 processor??? Thanks for answers to these points.

SteveF: Its is DDR3, we have the specs downloaded from another site so we do sometimes depend on there accuracy. As for the operating system, please ask Acer about that, we only sell the machines and have no sway when it comes to how the machines are set up. Please call our sales line for up to the date info on stock.

25-Feb-2009 Eash: Your web site says that Acer Aspire 8930G-944G64Bn Gemstone Blue Laptop - LX.AT10U.003 is in stock (3-5). Please confirm so that I can place my order. If not available, will you be able to procure and supply me? What is the ETA for this product? For your info, I have placed order in December for the above laptop and got refunded after 2 months due to non-availability. I could not place order when it was available as I did not get the refund. Now having got the refund, I am willing to take the chance with the hope to get this model from you. Could you please reply ASAP. Many thanks, Eash
