9-Mar-2011 SSR: How would you rate this against the Acer 5742? And are there non-Acer products which are as good but in the same price range? Thanks.

paul: I assume you mean the Aspire 5742 LX.R4F02.081? If so this model is lot quicker with a much better "i" processor and more RAM. The Acer TravelMate 5335 has the advantage of Windows 7 Pro so has a XP Pro mode and extra networking facilities for connecting to a domain, but most user don't require this.
